On behalf of the people of the State of Hawai’i, let me express
our warmest greetings of aloha to everyone gathered at
Aloha Stadium for the 2011 Pro Bowl.
We are especially pleased to welcome the Pro Bowl back to our beloved Hawai’i, and we look forward to many returns in our
island paradise. Indeed, it is fitting that the NFL’s best players demonstrate
their gridiron skills in this, the most breathtaking all-star destination in
the world. Amidst the warm sun, cool breezes, and sizzling island football
enthusiasm, the game is sure to be a winner for all involved!
It is also our pleasure to host several outstanding festivities in the
days preceding the main event, including a Sunset on the Beach event
at Queen’s Beach, ‘Ohana Day Celebration at Aloha Stadium, Youth
Football & Cheerleading Clinics at Kapiolani Park, a block party in Waikiki, and a tailgate party at
Richardson Field. Pro Bowl Week immeasurably benefits our state as residents and visitors from
across the world come together in the spirit of Ohana, teamwork, and athletic competition.
We would like to particularly welcome the players, coaches, their families, and, of course, the
fans attending the game. In addition to its unique beauty and tropical climate, Hawai’i offers
outstanding dining, shopping, and cultural opportunities, as well as some of the most friendly
and diverse people assembled anywhere on the planet.
Please enjoy the 2011 Pro Bowl festivities, and let’s have a great game!
Aloha,
Neil Abercrombie, Governor, State of Hawaii
